I'm a designer and musician living in Brooklyn, NY.
I joined ABCNews.com as Creative Director in late September 2009. Before that I was the Creative Director for Newsweek.com. At Newsweek I worked on a multi-phase redesign and on editorial, marketing, and product-driven projects while establishing a solid in-house design team.
For several years I was Creative Director at the award-winning interactive shop Code and Theory. I worked on large-scale redesigns and projects for a wide range of clients including: Comedy Central, Charlie Rose, VH1, Nickelodeon, Comcast, Dr. Pepper, Capitol Records, Atari, A&E, Microsoft, Ecko Unltd., and start ups such as Big Think.
I earned an MFA from Parsons in Design & Technology and received an honors BA in Music from Wesleyan University where I focused on electroacoustic music, composition, and ethnomusicology. At Parsons I explored making political and environmental issues accessible through the use of design and social media. While in grad school, I also worked at R/GA on the Nike Basketball account, designing and animating interactive campaigns.
I'm about 90% as good as I'd like to be archiving things. Like many designers, my personal sites are lovingly crafted, launched, slowly neglected, and abandonded as my interests change. This is the first time that I'm attempting to bring many of the previous variations of personal sites together: from five years of blog entries, to my photo blog, to info on my latest music releases. I have a to-do list about a mile long of additions and improvements I'd like to incorporate here, but for now, this will do.
It should go without saying, but the views expressed here are my own and do not reflect those of my employer.
