Michel Gondry’s newest music video for Mia Doi Todd’s ‘Open Your Heart’. After several years conceptualizing a video involving dozens of dancers wearing bright multi-colored outfits, Michel found a perfect fit with Mia’s tune. The music was produced and arranged by long-time friend and collaborator, Jon Brion and the video features the Riverside Community College Marching Band.

French artist Céleste Boursier-Mougenot creates works by drawing on the rhythms of daily life to produce sound in unexpected ways.
For his installation in The Curve, Boursier-Mougenot creates a walk-though aviary for a flock of zebra finches, furnished with electric guitars and other musical instruments. As the birds go about their routine activities, perching on or feeding from the various pieces of equipment, they create a captivating, live soundscape.
I’m going to see Au Revoir Simone play the Highline Ballroom this Thursday.
If you’re not familiar with this band already, you’re missing out—Au Revoir Simone is an all-keyboard trio with style for miles. They write deceptively simple, understated, and beautifully addictive songs for secret dance parties. I love the arrangement (the way the melody resolves up a half-step to the root, the drum machine beats, haunting bass line, and syncopated horns) of Sad Song (video above).
